Sunday | Check-in & Begin Writing
It all begins with a word. Maybe you want to pen an essay. Maybe you have a poem waiting to be written. Perhaps you're ready to finish that lingering chapter of your book, craft a compelling book proposal, or compose a song that echoes your deepest emotions. Whatever your writing aspirations, the Retreat is designed to provide the perfect environment for you to bring your ideas to life or finish your work. Check-in, set up, steam or shower, enjoy a fresh sparkling water and latte or tea and begin writing.
Monday | Write * Share * Shoot
With 24 dedicated hours of concentrated writing, you'll have the opportunity to share up to 10 pages of your work for developmental editing, feedback, and review by Briee Della Rocca, a seasoned contract editor and art director. She will offer insights and suggestions to help elevate your writing to the next level. At the golden hour, author headshots will be taken and delivered the next day.
Tuesday | Revise & Read
Wake up to a fresh breakfast delivered to your door, fueling your return to writing. For guests opting to share their work, head to Studio 9 in North Adams for the Tuesday Open Mic night at 6 pm. There, writers, singers, and spoken word poets sign up to share their creations in a professional recording studio and performance space.
Wednesday | Leave with finished work & author portraits
Before check-out, enjoy a fresh breakfast delivered to your door. At the end of your Writer’s Retreat, you'll walk away with a polished piece of writing, professional headshots, and—if you choose—the unforgettable experience of performing your work in front of a live audience.

Writer’s Retreats are available Sunday through Wednesday. If you're interested in booking, please contact Briee using this form with your preferred dates and any flexibility you might have. Briee will confirm availability, discuss your reading and editing preferences, note any food allergies or restrictions, and review the house policies before finalizing your booking. Please note that once a Writer’s Retreat package is booked, it is non-refundable.
